In an Instant - Everything Changed
LET ME TELL YOU A STORY
The last few years have been a whirlwind for us all. Across the globe, stories of how our lives have been forever changed. I like to call it, the "Great Re-evaluation". Each one of us had to change something in our lives. Over 4 Million Women left the workforce during the Pandemic. Mass layoffs, tightening of budgets, pulling things in-house. We are all facing these changes today. The first half of 2023 has been hard on all Advertising and Marketing jobs, budgets, and sales. Forcing companies to try "drastic" measures of mandating 4-5 days in the office.
For me, in an instant, everything changed when I found out I was pregnant in February 2020. Having my Son during the Pandemic was the hardest and the most incredible thing I've ever done. I was forced to go to doctor's appointments alone. My husband and I were the only ones allowed in the Hospital. We had zero help for the first 9 months. When we all finally got COVID in 2021, My Son was a-year-and-a-half, and he had to be rushed to the hospital and put on a ventilator. He's a little fighter and made it through bronchiolitis like a champ. He has changed my view of the world. I have new priorities and new goals. As we are settling into our new routine of his pre-school, our new world-view, and understanding what this post-pandemic world looks like... I've taken a look at what is important to me...
I want to build something with meaning. I want to tell stories. I want to work with people who want to create, together. I want to allow my team flex-schedule. I want to encourage people to speak up and let them feel heard. I've been working in Ad Agencies for 20 years. I've seen so many mistakes, and I think I can do it differently. Better.
